Tie Breakers:

The season record was only used to determine initial seeding for the round robin.  A technical advantage is earned by 1st place on the season & it results in them getting to play the lowest 2 ranked teams.  That advantage is spent & only the round robin games results are used to measure who advances in the tournament.

The first tie breaker is head to head record inside the round robin.  If it were down to 2 teams (IE Flatliners & Lifestar) then winner of their head to head game would advance.  Due to a 4 way tie it is not possible to utilize that tie breaker as all 4 teams have not played each other.

The second tie breaker is a team's goal differential (plus / minus) of the round robin games.  If you win the first game by 1 goal you are +1...  if you lose the second game by 2 goals you are now -1...  This is used due to it measuring not only the goal scoring of the teams, but also their defensive play in the same games.  Listed below are the goal differentials of the 4 teams:

Flatliners:  0  (Won by 2, Lost by 2)

Blades: +1 (Won by 2, Lost by 1)

Penguins: 0 (Lost by 2, Won by 2)

Lifestar:  -1 (Lost by 2, Won by 1)

In the bizarre event that a third tie breaker is needed, it ends up being lowest penalty minutes.  Lets hope that there is no error above & that PIM's doesn't determine who gets into the championships...
